Vintage WWII US Payroll Strongbox

Description

This is a Vintage WWII US Payroll Strongbox. It is dated 1942. It's in nice condition for its age.
It is marked US in front and looks like it might have been repainted but if it was it was repainted a very long time ago.
The locking mechanism works as it should. The top has a brass plate which moves to reveal a keyhole. I don't have the key but according to this site:

They look easy enough to make. The bottom is solid with only minor surface rust. It weighs about 140 lbs. and measures about 23" x 15" x 15".
