I'm offering today a gorgeous Ideal Thumbelina baby doll.  She is vinyl with soft body which has been completely taken apart and restored.  Her body has been completely restored and sanitized.  No winding mechanism, but has her original body.
I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has light blond hair which is cut into a short baby cut which frames that adorable face.  She is wearing a custom made hair band with large gross grain bow.
I designed this precious hair bow to match her adorable aqua green polka dot one piece jumper.  I took blue/green gross grain ribbon with adorable cupcake designs and made a large bow.  I cut aqua satin stretch hair band to fit the dolls head perfectly.  I then hand sewed the bow to the top of the hair band which allows it to stand upright and securely on the dolls head.  As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has beautiful hand painted eyes which which have been meticulously done for realism.  Oh so sweet and precious!
She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her rose bud shape lips. Her lips are painted pastel pink with a little bit of her tongue peeking from within. Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful pink coloring.
As I mentioned above, Thumbelina's body was horribly dirty and in need of help, so I removed all the old stuffing and restored the body.  All the horrible dirty stuffing was removed.  I have a special solution I use to soak these dolls in which removes almost all stains and definitely all the dirt.  I soak them for a couple days.  Then she is rinsed and left to soak for another day in a conditioning solution.  The body is then hung outside on a line and dries for several days in the fresh air.  While the body is being cleaned, I take her head and remove all the stuffing in the head and soak her head and put my softening and shine solution on her hair.  By the time the body is dried, her head is usually ready too.   When I re-stuff the body, I try not to put too much filler in so her body feels like a real baby.  The mechanism was not usable, so it was removed and patched.
As most of you who follow me know, I pick their outfits based upon the way their faces look and what they speak to my heart.  With this precious face, I knew she needed to be in aqua or blue green color.  I purchased this adorable one piece aqua and white polka dot jumper with adorable embroidered elephant on the front of the jumper.  The jumper has a long area in the back side which separates for easy removal.  The sleeves are long and come down to the top of her precious wrists.  The one piece jumper comes down to just above her ankles.  She is wearing adorable lace up white baby shoes.  She will come with her very own aqua/blue green teddy bear which has pellets and lies beautifully in her hands or on her lap.
My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.   Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
SIZE:
This is the smaller size Thumbelina measuring approximately 14" tall. Her precious teddy bear measures approximately 5" tall.
CONDITION:
She is vintage, but her body has been completely restored.  All the nasty, dirty stuffing was removed and soaked in a disinfecting solution which allows the fabric to look new once more.  Her original body has been patched with matching fabric where the winding mechanism use to be.  She looks like a brand new doll with no smells or odors.  Her adorable one piece jumper is new and has never been worn by another doll.  The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  She is coming from a Covid free home.  We are an older couple and have secluded ourselves since March, 2020.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
