Description

Northern Italian antique safe with typical all-around hobnails, dated circa 1790-1820, probably used inside a small feud fiefdom or fortified town castle of the Piedmont region, Italy's second-largest region where great craftsmanship and history meet landscapes and art-de-vivre becoming purveyors of Italy's finest designs and productions as well as food and wine, like white truffles and Barolo.
This beautiful collector piece has a great metal color with patina of time and solid cast iron frontal geometric and more curved classical decors, as well as the differently shaped all-around hobnails. It is a rare example of late 18th-early 19th century Italian master blacksmith craftsmanship, bringing to any room a unique elegance and character as well as an intriguing and conversational piece with the tricks and secrets of the unlocking mechanism combination.
The amazing lock and opening mechanism works with 3 beautiful keys, of which one with a magnificent triangle-shaped hollow shaft and two with a circle shaped shaft plus a special hook. Starting with finding the releases hidden behind some decors to expose the key holes and then a secret sequence with levers and movements to follow with the keys allows to unlock the safe and open the door.
On request, the interior of the safe can be completely customized either with watch winders, as a cigar humidor cabinet or liquor dry bar lined in leather with LED lighting and a custom base to fit your home decor style can be ordered as well.
