The concept and development for a French bullpup weapon originally began a few years after World War II; however, due to budgeting constraints and foreign conflicts, the concept remained in the prototype phase and was delayed for several years.  In 1967, the project – under the title of FAMAS – resumed.  Between 1967 and 1972, the FAMAS went through the development, prototyping, and evaluation processes.  By 1978, the FAMAS F1 was adopted into the French military and became standard issue for many of their units.  Since its inception, France’s unique bullpup assault rifle has seen service through a number of conflicts and operations in Europe, Africa, Middle East, and South East Asia.
The Cybergun FAMAS F1 EVO brings brings back an old classic that is a true replica of the famous French assault rifle.  Featuring a solid, high impact plastic body the FAMAS is lightweight and easy to control – even when using it one handed.  The integrated bipod and carry handle add to the multi-functionality of the AEG.  Each leg of the bipod folds down and locks into place giving the user a stable platform to fire from and the carry handle, which houses the adjustable front and rear sights, is great when you need to quickly pick up the gun and move from a position.  The FAMAS’s hand guard houses the battery.  On the underside of the hand guard  there is a short picatinny rail to allow the attachment of any forward grips, lights or lasers.  This AEG also features trademarks from the Saint-Etienne Weapons Factory.
Internally, the FAMAS uses a full metal version 1 type gearbox with metal gears and a unique piston.  The gear box and parts are TM compatible and can be upgraded with the right parts.  With its unique design, the inner barrel of the FAMAS is comparable to most M4 AEGs in terms of accuracy and length.  The EVO features a pre-installed Inline MOSET.  The MOSFET can be programed to allow the airsoft gun to fire in burst fire or with a variable rate of fire.  The Cybergun FAMAS F1 is a multi-role platform for any airsofter.  With its built-in bipod and carry handle, a hi-cap magazine and long inner barrel this AEG can be can a designated marksman’s rifle, a support weapon or an assault rifle - depending on the player or game.
